' STATMENTp DENIED. , MISTAKE IN NAMES# A cable from London dated November 90th stated that “Tbe Rev, W. T<« SmytheJPiggott, formerly of the 'Abode of, Ixive,’ Bpaxton, Somerset, hks re-, turned from Australia. In Australia he‘ met ‘Bishop’. Leadbeater, formerly- of tho Iheosophical Society, and at pre; sent self-styled 'Bishop of the Liberal Oatholio Church. ‘Bishop’ Leadbeater sent Mr Smythe-Piggott as an apostle to Britain, where he will probably -establish a prorcathedral near Edgeware, Middlesex.” These statements have brought forth a denial^signed by Mr F- H. Dawn, of the Chpreh of St. Alban. Wellington, who states; “THE FAOTS.” 1 “The facts are these: —The Rev. F. W. Piggott, M.A.', an entirely different person; recently visited Sydney, where no was consecrated as Regionary. Biahop of the Liberal Catholic Church of Great Britain and lreland. He is in no Way connected with the Smythe-Piggott, referred to. The Right Rev. F. W. Piggott is well known as a scholar and a gentleman. He spent some time in New Zealand, and held office as g priest in the Auckland diocese of the Church | ctf England;!’ • I
