MAGISTRATE’S COURT
YESTERDAY’S SITTING, Mr E. Page, S.M., dealt with the following oases in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. Louisa Pauline Stanley was ordered to pay 17s 6d medical expenses Tor being drunk, an J had a prohibition order issued against her. Lucy Mitchell was convicted and discharged on her second appearance for inebriacy. THEFT CHARGES. Frederick Sluter, alias Schluler, alias Frederick William Wells, alias Slater, alias Miller, alias Router, was remanded to appear at Auckland on a charge of stealing £8 18s. Stated to have walked into a secondhand shop, calmly picking up a suitcase, and. then, walking out again, George Edward Pengelly was sentenced to a month’s imprisonment for theft. On a further charge of stealing a pair of sea boots,' he was also sentenced to one month’s imprisonment. ALLEGED FAILURE TO ACCOUNT. Thomas Doolan was remanded until the 19th on a charge of failing to account for £1 to the Mamalru Forests, Ltd. It was said that the amount would probably be increased to £35. Mr R. R. Scott appeared for Doolan.
