SAILORS’ FRIEND SOCIETY

The pleasing programme arranged by Miss Gwen Esau, hostess, on Tuesday at she Sailors’ Friend Society met the taste of the audience at once, as wai shown by the repeated encores during ihe evening. The performers were Mrs Kettlewell, the Misses Rubenstein, Norris, Chapman, G. Esau, Mason, Muir, Tandy. Messrs Williams, J. Smith, Marsden Tandy, Matthews. The Misses Carey and Rubenstein were at the piano. “A' I Like’’ was the title of Mr Moore’s temperance chat. Pledges were forthcoming. Again the competitions gave veal pleasure. The prizes came from Mr 3 T. W. Hislon and the Misses Morton. They went to the Kutnara, Rimutaka, Waikemo.
