England scored 394 for three wickets (Hearne 174 not out, Tate 94) when the innings' was closed. Toowoomba scored 181 (Drews 62), and, following on, 87. Freeman took six wickets for'4B, and Kilner seven for 36.

ELIMINATING ROUNDPer Press Association. - MARTON, December 10. In ihe Hawke Cup ’ eliminating round, Rangitikei against Wanganui, the wicket was heavy. Rangitikei in their first innings had made 219 runs for 8 wickets when rain stopped play. The match is resuming on Thursday. Nelson holds the trophy, and the winners of thi3 match may send in a challenge.
