William Russell Matthews, 23 years of age, of Palmerston North, an electrician employed at the Mangahao powerhouse, who was admitted to the hospital this evening.in an unconscious condition, suffering from burns and a fracture at the base of the skull died this evening without recovering consciousness. Matthews came into contact with an e'ectric current of 11,906 volts,- the shock causing him to fall six or eight feet. The contact .With "the live wire caused burns to the body, whlie in the fall he received the major injury mentioned.

Deceased was a single man, and his pr tents reside here. '
