The special Cricket correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” criticises some of the umpire’s decisions 1 in the English match against ah Australian eleven on Saturday. He says that it was an obvious mistake when Sutcliffe was given out “leg before.! ’ Neither bowler nor wicketkeeper had appealed, and Heqdry asked the umpire to reverse his decision, bat he refused. The correspondent adds that according to Hendry there was another bad derision when Chapman was given “not out” for a catch at the wicket. Ultimately Chapman was given out stumped when obviously his hat was grounded before the wicket was broken.
