MARRIED A NURSE
BIGAMY AND FAISE PRETENCES. CEREMONY AT WELLINGTON. AUCKLAND, December 8. Three charges of .obtaining money by means of Val ueless orders, and With' committing bigamy, were admitted at Auckland PoKoe Court by Alexander Robertson, an accountant, aged 37. Chief-Detective Cummings prosecuted, the accused being undefended. The evidence shcnted that accused had obtained . from Frederick Richard Mason, £lO 128 4d, by' means of a valueless order drawn on Cook and Company, Wanganui, £8 5s 6d from Constance Wild, by a valueless order dr»wn on, the ; New Zealand Farmers’ Distributing Company, Wanganui, and £2 6s lid at Hamilton by a valueless order. ; In a statement to the police accused admitted that he .was married at Wellington on April 24th, 1909, to a young wotnan, .and (rf the marriage'there were two children. ' Last month, November 6th, ho went through the- form of marriage, with a nurse whose name the court ordered should be suppressed. Tho liurse stated that accused hart represented to her that he was a single mani and after a short courtship they weht through the form of marriage. They, only lived together 'five days, and she then left him. Accused, who’ said he didn’t know why ho did it. pleaded guilty, and on the bigamy charge was committed to (the Supreme Court for sentence. On the other charges he was’remanded to obme up for sentence at the Police Court on Thursday.
