DEAD IN BUSH
BODY FOUND AT MURITAI. MYSTERIOUS FATALITY. Early yesterday morning while Mr Burdon was driving a milk float round to Hastoourne he came across a body on the Gollan’3 valley road. An ex“n^at[°"showed that life was extinct. The body was later identified as that “ ~ r P- R* Boyd, a customs agent, of Wellington, who had been residing at Eastbourne for about six months, and was well-known in the city. Tho deceased, who was a widower, was expecting his young daughter to visit him during the Christmas holidays. Accompanied only b ya dog it had been uis habit for somo time to wander early in the morning about the hills v-ith a gun. On examining the body a gun wound •vas found near the heart, while the ?un was picked up later a short distance away. The body was brought iver to town by the ferry boat yester'ay afternoon, and the facts have been oported to the coroner, who will hold n inquest.
