Talbot, Wales, said that Zaghlul Pasha came to him, saying, “I accept nothing, not even the status quo. My hand is free to pursue any policy I like.” Mr Macdonald added that had Eaghlul accepted the status quo,- the recent events would not have happened. Nevertheless, the handling of the Egyptian affair had greatly damaged Britain in the eyes of the world. It is understood that Zaghlul has obtained a passport to leave Egypt for Europe.
