Unusual interest attaches to a great Bnsuto “pitso,” or annual national assembly, which was openod to-day at Maseru bv the Earl of Athlcine. Over 30,000 natives were present, many having ridden for miles over the hills, and it is said to be the biggest pitso on record. Basutoland is undor Imperial rule, and no European is allowed to own land. The country is under stricter Prohibition than America.
