THE MIJILAND CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. The Midland Crioket Club held Its annual meeting on Wednesday evening, Mr W. A. Partott presiding l over a large attendance of players and supporters. The annual report was adopted. The balance-sheet showed that the club was in a sound financial position, there being a cash balance of £l4 7s Id. It was pointed out, however, that oertain of the lower-v grade players had not been “coming up to swatch” with their subscriptions spme ef them.even having failed to pay their ground fees. This was a direct loss to the olub, and materially altered the financial position, which would have been much larger if the £25 outstanding could have been collected. OFFICE BEARERS. C. Hutchings, J. Leuchare, A. Blaoklook, F. Wells, W. H. Ataok, F. K. Helling, B. Brown, H. Osborne, and W- B. Caldow; club captain, Mr B. Upham; honorary secretary, Mr J. W. Hutchings; hon. Mr W. A. Baker; management committee, Messrs W, Johnson, H. Osborne, J: H. Hut ohinge, L. G. Clarke, and A. Grant; ings and V.,Edgar; -delegates to Wellington Cricket Association, Messrs W. 8. Hood, A. Doueghue, J. H. Hutchings, and W. A. Baker. GROUND FEES. Mr J. H. Hutchings informed the meeting that a scheme was to be brought up at the next meeting of the Wellington Orioket Association whereby each club would odd the ground fees of each player to Jhe subsormtion, thereby obviating the trouble of collecting the individual fees eeeh Saturday. It was decided that the general feeling of the meeting was that the soheme was a good one, but the delegates Of the club to the association were given power to use their discretion in the matter. The oup donated to the dub by Mr G. Winder for presentation to the most improved player in the olub was presented to Mr L. G. Clqjkp. A very hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr Hood, the senior team's scorer, for hie long and valuable service to the elub. Mention was made that In the past eeason J. H. Hutchings topped the bub ting average of the olub with 45.20, while O'Connor topped the bowling i> ith an average of 12.0. '
