Tho “New York Times” correspondent in Washington learns that the Prince of Wales, travelling incognito as Baron Renfrew, is expected to come to the United States to attend polo matches early in September between America and Biitain. The Princy., though himself an ardent player, wi.i not participate in any official matches but expects to join in the- preliminary practice matches in which his countrymen will compete. The Prince’s visit to the United States will consume a fortnight, aftir which he will probably return to his ranch in Canada. The suggestion for the Prince’s vis/c mine in a letter from Mr L. E. Stoddard, chairman of the Polo Association, to Captain Frederick Guest, o member of the Prince’s entourage who replied that the Prince would probably enthusiastically accept an official invitation, which was forthwith despatched.
