HATAITAI SCHOOL

OLD COMMITTEE RE-ELECTED. THE BOUNDARIES QUESTION. The small attendance at the meeting of Hataitai householders last evening for the purpose of electing a school committee was evidently an indication that the residents of that district were satisfied with the wprk the committee had done, in obtaining a rearrangement of the boundaries of the school district. Mf H. R. Searle was in the chair.

In outlining the purpose of the meeting, Mr Searle said that when the usual meeting was held on May sth, the householders supported the action of the old committee in not accepting nomination owing to the alleged unfairness of the boundaries between the Kilbirnie and the Hataitai School. At a further meeting on June 2nd, it was agreed to approach the Education Board with a view to obtaining a readjustment of the boundaries. This was done, and the new boundaries were duly advertised. On June 28th another meeting was held, and at this a'committee was elected, -but the Education Board decreed that still another meeting must be held to put the matter m order. This was the purpose of last night’s meeting.
