CONCERTS AT WEMBLEY
CHORUS OP TEN THOUSAND. RECORD ATTENDANCE. Reuter’s Telegram. LONDON, June 1. . “Empire Week” at Wembley culmin a ted in a colossal concert in the Stadium, conducted by Mr Charles Harris. Ten thousand white-robed choristers, drawn from choral societies in all parts of the kingdom, were arranged around an orchestra of 500 players. Rain failed to damp the enthusiasm of the gathering. Thousands of musioal enthusiasts arrived from the provinces to hear their own famous choirs participate in the programme. The works performed , were by British composers. There was a record attendance, of 169,202, on Saturday.
