Mr Salmon stated that the council had affirmed and ro-affirincd the decision not to agree to any pooling arrangement with Austrlia, so that the position at prodent was that New Zealand would take over the team and pay all its own expenses. The Commonwealth Association still desired to pool fjates. The hour would cost <£ll,ooo, and it was estimated that /New Zfealanjd’e sha.re would be three elevenths of that amount Mr McLaren is to have access to correspondence and minutes to gain other information necessary to enable him to discuss matters with the C.F.A., and report to the N.Z.FA upon Lis return. A letter from the Canadian Football I Association regarding the visit of the Canadian team to Australia, stated that |the Now Zealand Association had promised to send an official invitation, and when, they first heard from the Australian Association by cable on January Ist the messaso was ’phoned to the secretary s home and taken down as New Zealand, and it was New Zealand that was put on all telegrams to provincial associations in Canada. Upon receiving tho message through the mail next day, ho was surprised to know the invitation was irom Australia, and not hearing further from New Zealand, presumed the matter had been dropped. After various cables and letters they came to an agreement with tho Australian F.A., and although_ they_ understood the tour might ake in New Zealand, Australia had since replied that it would be in that country only. Whether they were to blame or not they could not say, but they had # to make it hard and fast that they arrived back in Canada before August 27th, although they were willing r«> play in both countries if necessary. Regret was expressed that they had been the oause of any disagreement between the N.Z. and tho. Commonwealth Associations end trusted the differences would be healed up cafirfactorily. The letter was received. SUSPENSIONS. South Canterbury Football Association wrote that George Nicol, of Thistle Club, had been suspended until the end of the present season for assaulting another nlayer in the match. Thistle v. Albion Rovers. The suspension was confirmed. The suspension of J. Jackson, of Sunnyside Club, Otago, was 1 itte<f from the date of his sailing, as ho leaves shortly for Ireland. SUB-COMMITTEES.
