Burns, whose activities have been the storm centre ill several Senate investigations, has resigned his position as chief of the Justice Department’s Bureau of Investigation. He was selected for the post three years ago by Attorney-General Daugherty, and the world-famous detective has since borne much of the criticism levelled at the Daugherty administration. Illness is stated to he tho reason for Mr Burns’s resignation.
