CROATS RECOGNISE UNION, GOVERNMENT RESIGNS. Atetralian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received! March 25, 5-5 p.m.) BELGRADE, March 25. Sixty-eight members of the Croatian Feasant Republican Party arrived at Belgrade and took the oath of loyalty to Ring Alexander, thus recognising the union with Jugo-Slavia for the first time.
M. Pasliitch’s Government is now faced with an Opposition of overwhelming strength, so he has handed in his resignation to the King. It is expected that M. Davidovitch, leader of the Democratic Piarty, will bo the new Premier. He has 173 supporters, compared with M. Pashitch’s 127. The Croats, who. are the strongest party in the Skivptsekina. favour federal organisation, and state their preference for the prebent central government. After the Revolution in 1818, in Austria-Hungary, a movement "began for the foundation of the Stale of the Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes by the union of the AUstro-Serbiah, Croatian, and Slovenian parts of the. former Austro-Hungarian monarchy With Serbia. The fiew State Was recognised by the Allies early in 1919. M. Paehitch formed his Government in December, 1922.
