An Australian artist of distinction, Mrs Kitty Russell Jackson, (nee Boyes>, is a recent arrival in Wellington. A cousin of tlie famous Davirl Locv, and for five years a traveller. Mrs Jackson has modelled busts of such celebrities as Mr Lloyd George, General Botha, the King of Siam, Mr William Hughes, Federal High Court Judges, Samuel Griffiths and Edmund Barton, and the Marquis Okamn, of Japan, during her wanderings. She has left her home in Melbourne and journeyed to New Zealand in order to he with her husband. Captain Russell Jackson, commander of the City of Winchester, during his stay in the Dominion l . She returns to Melbourne shortly and later goes to the United States, there to undertake work for one of the biggest American papers. During her stay in Auckland recently Mrs Jackson was tlio guest of Mrs Newbegin. H.M.S. Chatham has been visiting Dunedin and several dances have been given for the officers.
