SATURDAY’S SITTING. Mr E. Page, S.M., presided over a short sitting of the court on Satumay morning. ... Two first offenders "for insobriety were each fined ss. and another was ordered to forfeit tlio amount of his bail. 10s. . ' With one previous conviction for insobriety, Patrick Doran was fined 10s, in default 48 hours’ imprisonment. Assaulting Annie Cowan cost Albert Vincent Knapp £3, and for using indecent language a further £2. Wm. John Wooloott was charged with tho theft of 40 pairs of kippers from the steamer Piako. On the application of the police tho accused was remanded till Tuesday. Bail was allowed in one surety of £25.
