LINER PUTS INTO PORT

MISHAP TO BOILERS. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, March 21. The Federal liner Durham left Sydney last Monday partly loaded, to complete loading at Monte Video, for Hamburg, and. on the second day out the main boilers commenced leaking, and the engineering staff had a strenuous time. Two of the three hollers supplied the steam while the other was being repaired. This is conaquenco reduced the vessel’s speed, but all the boilers had been repaired the day before the vessel arrived at Port Chalmers. It waa not considered advisable, however, to continue tho voyage in view of what had occurred, so it was decided to put into Port Chalmers to have the boilers further attended to. The vessel arrived at tho port this evening, and will -be overhauled at Hie Union Company’s repair works, and will probably be ready to resume her voyage in a week’s time.
