APPEAL DISMISSED
FINES TO STAND. FOR ILLEGAL STRIKE!, Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, March 21. The Arbitration Court dismissed an appeal against the decision of a magistrate in July last, awarding a penalty of £3 against each of 54 watersiders for taking part in a 6trike in connection with the discharge of the steamer Opawa. Tho president said that the appeal must be dismissed as the law stood, but he could not understand why tho laiw had not been amended.
