The polling at Westminster Abbey, Where the votes are to be counted on niursday, excelled any by-election in Mid-London in living memory. The Strand, Regent street, and Parliament street were crowded with motor-cars decked with the ribbons of the four parties, which have made an immense effort to poll every available vote. Mr Winston Churchill alone had 265 cars. One of his supporters came from Cannes and another from Italy. “WINSTON WILL WlN!’’ Mr Baldwin, the Hon. Arthur Henderson and his two sons, Mr Philip ..Snowden, and. Miss Margaret Bond•field wore among the voters. Churchill twice toured the constituency at Ihe head of a motor procession, every car sounding a siren continually and partisans with megaphones crying “Winston will win!” Mr Otho Nicholson’B supporters anticipate a 2000 majority. Labour says that it might slip in owing to a Conservative split, but it will be satisfied if it can keep Churchill out. .Mr Otho Nicholson is the Conservative candidate.
