ADDINGTON MARKET STRONG TONE THROUGHOUT. Per "Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, March 19. At Addington yards a keener sale was the' rule to-day for practically all important cl asses of stock, store sheep notably. Ewes firmed np strongly during the sale, whilst good beef brought enhanced prices, rat lambs and sheen were also firmer. There were large yardings of store sheep, including over 5000 from North Island, .and also Marlborough consignments. Competition at the start, when inferior 6heep were offered, was dull, but there was a remarkable firming np as the sale proceeded, averaging from 2s to 3s per head on last week for ewes, and 2s on lambs. Prices were—Good 2-tooth halfbred ewes 4:s 3d, _ordmary halfbred 2-tooth ewes 83s to 375, good 2-tooth three-quarterbred ewes 36s lOd, North Island 2-tooth threequarterbred ewes 30s 6d to 355, good 4, 6 and 8-tooth halfbred ewes 37s 6d. ordinary 32s to 34s 6d, coarse crossbred North Island 2-tooth ewes 29s 6d to 31s 6d, good 4, 6 and 8-tooth Romney crqss ewes 29s to 335, lower conditioned 235; good forward lambs 21s 6d to 24s 3d, ordinary 17s 6d to 20s 6d, medium 15s to 16s 6d, small inferior lambs 10s to 10s 6d, inferior halfbred ewe lambs 18s 6d to 22s 6d, fairly good three-quarterbred ewe lambs 235, good 4 and 6-tooth 23s 6d to 28s, inferior 20s to 22s 9d.

Fat Lambs. —A very small yarding of 1920 head. Competition was keener, and the primest sorts made np to IOJd per lb, overweihts 9Jd, lightweights 9jd. Prime lamhs 30s 6d to 33s lOd, medium 27s to 30s, light 23s to 2Gs 6d. Fat Sheep.—Average sized yarding and improved sale by Is 6d to 2s per head for good wethers and ewes. Wether mutton made from 6|d to 7d per lb, ewes from 4Jd to 5Jd. Extra prime wethers 40s, a few special 455, prime wethers 33s 6d to 38s, medium 29s 6d to 335, inferior 25s to 28s fid; extra prime ewes 345, a few special 35s 10d, prime 26s 6d to 30g 6d, medium 23s 6d to 265, light 20s to 235, old 16s 6d to 19s 6d. .rat Cattle—A yarding of 390, the qual!r? being better than for some time. I here was a decided improvement in demand for good steers, which made £2 a head more than last week. A few special sorts made up to 37s 6d per 1001 b, pnme beef 32s 6d to 35s Id. medium 28s 6d to 325, light 22s 6d to 27s 6d, rough down to 15s.
