LUXOR EN FETE
PHARAOH’S TOMB RE-OiPENED. ANCIENT CEREMONIES. Reuter’s Telegram(Received March 7, 10.5 p.m.) LONDON, March 6. Reuter’s correspondent at Luxor reports that Tutankhamen’s tomb has ■been reopened. Two hundred distinguished guests, including Lord Allenby, Egyptian Ministers, and foreign diplomats, were admitted as. guests of the Egyptian Government to view the goldcovered coffin. The gueste travelled in special trains. Elaborate ceremonies were (held, including the slaying of two bulls as a sacrifice in the centre of Luxor, as was customary in the day® of the Pharaohs. The streets were decorated, and there wap a banquet in the evening, followed by a fete and a fireworks djaPl Neither Mr Howard Carter nor any qf his staff was present.
