DISPLAY LAST NIGHT ' ARRANGEMENTS FOB TO-DAY Despite the slomew'bat rmexpeefted rain last evening, the gathering at Newtown Park was by no means marred. The attendance was extremely large, and the lxvnks surrounding rhe oval were packed with interested spectators. Owing to the misty rain wnicK fell during the better part oF th» evening, the different compeiitionu and sports for the territorials and senior cadets were uostponed. These will take place this afternoon, and an early start wall be made at 2 pm. in order to brine the various competitions postponed during the week to a ceoctrcsioa. The eannoniers gave their usual display, and the 1790 guards mounted guard in the manner in which, this oerornoay was carried out in that year at the Palace of St. James. Much interest was taken in these events. Tito Wellington Fire Brigade again gave their exhibition of a bnrlesqne brigade in the “Dark Town’ ’ display, and evoked much laughter. The ahain night attack again created much, interest. This afternoon, weather permitting, the programme will be adhered to, and will of course include the .Queens’! pageant. An early start is necessary in coder to complete the week's programme. In the evening special features will be included in connection with the sham l attack, and in this connection some surprises are being planned.

QUEEN ELIZABETH IN THE LEADThe result of the Queen contest last evening was - Queen Elizabeth (Mrs Ashford), 36.808. Joan of Arc (Miss Joan Kirkoaldie), 30,460. Nurse Cavell (Matron - Wilson), 17,960. Britannia (Mites Marjorie O'Shea), 17.685. Mary Queen of Scots (Miss Miles), 17,424.
