MOSLEMS OFFENDED

ABOLITION OF CALIPHATE INDIANS OF ALL RANKS JOIN IN PROTEST. “INFIDEL TURKS.” By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. (Sydney “Sun” Cable.) DELHI, March 5. The news of the abolition of tho Caliphate reached India as the Moslem members of the Imperial Assembly were sitting at Delhi entertaining the Ottoman Red Crescent delegation from Angora to collect funds. Both the delegation and the Indian Moslems received the news with great distress, and decided to send a mission to Angora to discuss the matter with the Turkish leaders. Indignation among Indian Mohammedans is increasing daily. All ranks are joining in protest. The feeling is expressed in the words of a prominent Mohammedan in Calcutta: “The Turks, by their present action, show themselves infidels who have committed a great religious blunder.”
