INQUEST ON CONSTABLE SMA RT. Ter Press Association. DUNEDIN, January 29. At the inquest on Constable Smart, Sergeant Dunlop advanced the theory that deoeased arrived too early, at the point on the wharf where lie was due to meet witness, dropped asleep and fell into the water. Deceased generally took insufficient rest and was inclined to get sleepy. A verdict of accidentally drowned ivas returned.
