ENGLISH DAIRY FARMER
ANXIOUS TO COME TO DOMINION. APPLICATION TO A. AND P. ASSOCIATION. Per Pre?s Association. PALMERSTON N., January 29. At a meeting of the general committee of the Monawatu A. and P. Association, a letter was received from London from a man anxious to come to the Dominion and take up farming. The writer, a single man, aged 23 years, stated that he had nine years’ experience in dairy fanning. He had applied to the High Commissioner for an assisted passage to the Dominion as a farm worker, but owing to a slight defect in the writer’s left eve the High Commissioner was unable to grant such passage unless the man was nominated by somcltody resident in the Dominion. The writer having no friends or relatives in the Dominion, the High Commissioner supplied him with the address of the Manawatu Association. with a suggestion that that body would nominate him. This the writer a@ked should be done. The cliairmnn (Mr Dnlrymple) said this was a good opportunity for a member who wanted to encourage young men whose letters have a genuine ring. Tito question is to receive early attention.
