YOUNG STOWAWAY

SEEKS ADVENTURE OVERSEAS. SLEEPING ON THE WHARF. Adventure appears to have certainly come the way of a young lad named John William Golfer, 16J years of age, who was charged at the Police Court yesterday with having insufficient means of support and being idle and disorderly. According to Senior-Sergeant Lander, defendant hod arrived in the country from Son Francisco as a stowaway on a boat. He was to have been taken back to America by another boat which, however, left without him. The accused then stowed away on another ship, and came down to Wellington. He was discovered on the Queen’s wharf sleeping on a case of motor-cars. On the application of the sub-inspec-tor, the. accused was remanded until Saturday.
