Arrangements hare been made for the holding of the Public Service bowling tournament on Thursday, February 7th, Play will, this year, be on the greens of jtho fljboimdlon and Hataitai Bowling Clubs, and it is proposed to play five games of 13 heads each instead of three games of 21 heads as usual. There will probably, therefore, bo no byes, and at tho close of the day only the winners of four sections will remain in the competition. It is also hoped to make the tournament more of asocial function than hitherto. Many entries have been received, and it is anticipated that thero will be keen competition on the eventful day. _ THORNDON CLUB. ‘ Pennants v. Johnsonville.
