HOSPITAL DEBENTURES

STILL AVAILABLE. SOUND INVESTMENT FOR AT.T. CLASSES. At the meeting of the Wellington Hospital Board yesterday, Mr W. J. Appleton stated that the hospital debentures, bearing interest at 51 per cent, per annum, maturing within ten years, had been available since December 10th. So far, £20,300 had been issued among 39 investors. As the board was not paying brokerage, this was considered highly satisfactory. The security was gilt-edged, and there was no better offering in the Dominion. It should prove attractive to all classes of the community, who were thus afforded the opportunity of taking a practical interest in their own institutions. By assisting the hospital and its institutions, they were helping themselves. There was plenty of ready money available in the country, and as the surface of the market had been merely scratched, it was advisable that the board should again bring it before the public.
