DETECTIVES RAID HOUSE. FIVE ARRESTS MADE. ißy Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received January 23, 9.20 p.m.) MELBOURNE, January 23. In connection witli the alleged attempt to rescue a prisoner from gaol, detectives raided a house in the suburbs, and arrested at the revolver point “Squizzy” Taylor, Michael. Costello, Albert Arms, Charles Toolin, and Thomas Taylor on a charge of unlawfully conspiring to aid Angus Murray to escape from Melbourne gaol. The five men were later remanded for eight days. Costello is the warder who was dismissed from the gaol shortly after the discovery of the plot, and Toolin a clerk employed by a wellknown firm of solicitors, who had frequent access to Murray in a professional capacity.
