WAIRARAPA WRECK
RECOVERY OF SAFE DENIED. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, January 23. It was reported that the divers who bought the Wairarapa wreck for £ls, in addition to a good deal of valuable material, had recovered the ship’s safe, which had not yet been opened, but was expected to contain money, jewellery, etc. A subsequent message, however, stated that the report regarding the recovery of the safe is without foundation.
