“CROSS BETRAYAL”
TO WITHDRAW STRIKE NOTICES. MEN’S DECISION. Australian and N.Z Cable Association. LONDON, January 20. The locomotive men, following a lengthy conference, announced a resolution containing the following statement: “Wte feei that it would be 0 gross betrayal of our members and the workers generally to withdraw the strike notices. We cannot fail to recognise that the obstinacy of the general managers and tbeir unbending attitude in demanding the decision of the National Awards Board should 6tand, constitutes an Arbitration Court award, which prohibits the right to collective bargaining.” The resolution concludes by placing the responsibility on the managers for failure to effect a settlement.
