FIRE IN HOTEL
NQ WATER AVAILABLE. Per Press Association. DARGAVHLE, December 20. The Tangiteroria Hotel, a twenty-three-roomed wooden building, was totally destroyed by fire at 3.20 o’clock this morning. The building was a fairly old one, and stood on a commanding height. With the heavy gale of wind blowing at the time of the outbreak, and no water supply, it was impossible to save the building. 'Hie licensee, Mr H. B. J. Rea, and family, also a number of boarders, had a fortunate escape. Mr Rea had an insurance of £625 on his stock and furniture, but estimates his loss at fully £IOOO over insurance, as he had just landed a largo stock for the Christmas trade. The building was owned by Mr L. D. Nathan, of Auckland. The insurances are not available.
