ELECTION OF BOARD. NORTH ISLAND RESULT TO-DAY. Mr G. G. Hodgkins, chief electoral officer, announced la-°t night that the count of votes for the election of members to the Dairy Produce Board was proceeding, but was incomplete. Hie hopes to be able to give the result of the North Island voting today. Up to last night the Farmers’ Union ticket was leading. The South Island result will not he known till after the North Island result. COMPLAINT FROM WAIKATO MANY SUPPLIERS UNABLE TO VOTE. Per Press Association. TE AWAMUTU, December 18. The Dominion president of the Dairy Farmers’ Union (Mr C. Parker) has been advised that only two out of 35 suppliers to the Makowai (Manawatu) Dairy Company received ballot papers for the Control Board election, despite the fact that all voted at the first referendum. The chairman,of the company, who nominated two candidates, was told later that his name does not appear on any roll, and hence usks why he was accepted as a nominator. His protest to the Minister and returning officer was not entertained. Dissatisfaction prevails amongst the suppliers. Also, this morning, Mr Parker received advice from Mr R. Cobbe that his scrutineer informs him that large blocks of votes from the North were found in the first few ballot boxes, all obviously marked by the same agency. Mr Parker adds: “These complaints and allegations demand >aai investigation so as to remove any suspicion of doubt.”
