OBITUARY

SIR JOHN TAVERNER. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. MELBOURNE, December 18. Sir John Taverner collapsed when speaking at Doncaster, and died in a few minutes. Sir John was born in 1856, and entered public life in 1879. He was a member of the Victorian legislative Assembly - from 1889' to 1904/ and Minister on several occasions. He was Agent-General for Victoria from £904 to 1913.
