The following information has been cabled to the London office:—"For the period ended December Ist, the Waihi Grand Junction Company crushed 6400 tons of ore, which yielded 2145 ounces gold and 3566 ounces silver, equivalent to a return valued at £9365 4s Id, without allowing for premiums on metals. The excavation of No. 11 level chamber is completed, and timbering the same is proceeding." The London office advises having sold 10.776 Hohonu Slucing Company shares for .£5250, and hopes to sell the remaining 20,000 shares within a few months. The information is of importance, as the return shows a considerable improvement upon the preceding one. As far as New Zealand shareholders are concerned, the advice from the London office that 10,770 Hohonu Sluicing Company shares 'had been sold for £3250. is gratfying news, as it will increase the reserve funds of the company. If the other 20,000 shares can be sold at the same rate, the company will not lose much on the venture. as last year’s balance-sheet shows amongst the assets 30.770 shaies at 10s each in the Hohonu Gold Slucing Company, cost £IO.OOO.
