CONSTABLE ASSAULTED

Assaulting a constable resulted in Andiew McDonald (27 years of age) appearing in the dock at the Police Court yesterday to answer the charge .—that of assaulting a constable in the execution of bis duty. Polioe evidence as to the assault was given, and when asked if he had anything to say, th© accused replied that he remembered nothing about assaulting a constable. His Worship took a. serious view of the offence and sentenced the accused to 14 days’ imprisonment. On a second charge of insobriety, the accused was fined ss, in default 24 hours’ imprisonment.
