(Received December 17, 8.10 p.m.) LONDON, December 17. Tho formation is announced of the Empire Exhibiton Fellowship, the object of which is to carry out a scheme of Imperial education, to stimulate Empire trade, and assist the better distribution of the Empire’s population. The fellowship will grant a number of Empire scholarships of £IOOO each, which will be available for young citizens of the United Kingdom to settle in one of the dominions, and for young citizens in the dominions to undertake a university or technical education course in the Home Country. In either case there is an option to stay in the citizen’s own country and use the scholarship for a start in life. The subscription to tho fellowship is two guineas THE PRINCE AS PRESIDENT. Tho Prince of Wales, in accepting the presidency, writes: ‘‘l think many thousands throughout the Empire wish to do something more for tho Exhibition’s success than visit it once or twice. The fellowship, with its programme of Imperial education, its scheme for settlement, its scholarships, and Hie provision of season tiokets for the Exhibition, is intended to meet these cases. It is hoped to see the membership grow in every part of the Empire.” Sir Henry McMahon, chairman of the executive committee, stated that the fellowship lasts only for the period of the Exhibition, hut it is expected that the inembershio certificates, signed by the Prince of Wales, will be a reminder in future years of the responsibilities to the Empire. It will he organised in three sections, namely, the dominions, London, and the rest of the United Kingdom. Sir Hanvnet Share is president, Sir Henry Galway will represent the dominions’ group on the oommittee, and Mr Frank Fox is general secretary.
