WAIRARAPA CALEDONIAN SOCIETY. The forty-eighth annual sports meeting will be held at Masterton on New Year’s Day. The society is offering £250 in cash and trophies. The main piping events are each worth £5 for first prize, also £lO 10s will be given to the winners of most points in piping events. The prize-money in dancing, both adult and juvenile, has been considerably increased. The amateur athletic and cycling events are well catered for with trophy prizes. A twenty-guinea silver cup is open for competition for members of amateur clubs, scoring the most points throughout the programme. The threemile wheel race also carries a silver cup to the winner. Entries close tomorrow (Tuesday), December 18th, with the secretary (Mr R. H. Williams), from whom all particulars may be obtained.
