MINING DISPUTE
JUDGE’S PROPOSALS FAIL. By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. SYDNEY, December 13. The miners in the Maitland field rejected the proposals of Mr Justice Edmunds on a local dispute, and sought the intervention of Mr C. W. Oakes, Colonial Secretary, as mediator. Mr Oakes has now declined to go over the head of Mr Justice Edmunds.
