With 10.000 immigrants already arrived under the Deoember quota, the Bureau of Immigration reoams show that more than 300,000 immigrants arrived during the first five months of the fiscal year, which began on June 30th; the6e figures indicating that approximately 85 . per oent. of the year’s quota is already exhausted. Seventeen nations cannot send any more emigrants until next July. These include Britain, , Australia, New Zealand, Germany, and 1 Italy: . The Scandinavian countries’ quotas are still unfilled, and it is expected that these too will be exhausted try February.
