GUILTY OF FORGERY
COMMITTED FOR SENTENCE.
Per Press Association DUNEDIN, December 3. In the police court, to-day, Albert William Grant, a married man, 27 'years of age, was charged with obtaining from J. and J. Arthur, iitd.j goods to a value of £4 3s 6d and £o 10s 6d, by means of a valueless cheque, also with forging a cheque on the National Bank of New Zealand for £lO by purporting it to be signed by M. Campbell, also obtaining £lO in goods and money from Reddell’s Ltd., by means of a cheque similarily signed. In a signed statement accused said he came front Christchurch, and while in Dunedin had consumed a fair amount of liquor, as he felt unwed. He did not remember signing the cheques and had clothing in his possession that' he did not remember buying. Accused pleaded guilty and was conk mitted for sentence.
