I The'committee of the Mothers’ Help Society held a~daiice last night in the I Cabaret Club room, Goring street, in ; aid of the funds of the society. There I was a very good attendance, and the hall looked very gay with its pretty ’ decorations and coloured shades, and the bright frocks of the girls present. ! The guests included several of the of- ■ cers of the warships in port, and a ' nqmber of parties had been made up in thfeir honour. A delicious home-made supper was provided; and was much enjoyed. Among the members of the committee present were Mrs Shailer AVeston, in crimson georgette and gold lace; Mrs Bayfield, in black and jet; Mrs Tripp, in eau-de-nil satin lace; Mrs Darling, in grey charmeu.se embroidered in blue; Mrs H. Hall, in black satin beaded in silver ; Mrs Herbert, in grey georgette lightly beaded; Mrs Spear, in black satin and ninon. Also among those iiresent wore Mr Shailer AAeston. Mr and Mrs Gilmer, Miss P. Blundell, Mr and Mrs Thorne George, Miss S. Darling, Mrs P. Marshall, Miss Allen, Mrs Alec Young, Miss M. Ward, Mr Darroch, Miss BorI laeo, and others. •
