IMPERIAL LOANS REFUSED. MR THEODORE’S DECISION. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright,(Received November 22, 5.5 p.m.) BRISBANE, November 22. The State Premier, Mr E. G. Theodore, ha® refused the offer of British loans for immediate public works, oil' * the ground that 75 per cent, of the materials required by Queensland are obtainable in Australia. Hence the State is unable to satisfy the conditions of the loans by purchasing materials from t English manufacturers. AUSTRALIA’S DEFENCE.
