WATERWORKS TUNNEL

WORK GOING AHEAD. Work at the Orongorongo tunnel has been proceeding steadily. At the most recent report there had been 1343 feet left to drive, and it is expected that by the present time this will be down to 1200 feet. In another couple of weeks, when the distance between the two gang 3 is ahout 1000 feet, they may expect to hear each other blasting.
