MINISTERIAL Sir Maui Pomare (Minister for PubMs Health) returned to Wellington last night from his trip to Waipukurau and Napier. The Hon W. Nosworthy (Minister for Agriculture and Tourist Resorts, and Acting-Minister for Lands) and the Hon. H, F. Bollard (Minister for Internal Affairs) leave Wellington on Monday next to open the Rata Dairy Company s new factory at Palmerston North. They will proceed the same evening to Auckland, where they will visit the Colonial Ammunition Company’s works. The two Ministers will afterwards visit Drury and Henderson, attend the Auckland A. and P. Show on Friday next, and afterward* visit Hamilton, the Thames, the Hauraki Plains, Rotorua, the Bay of Plenty, and the East Coast districts, including Tauranga, Whakatane, Opotiki, and Gisborne. The Ministers, whose itinerary also embraces Lake Waikaremoana and Napier, are due back in Wellington on December 20th. Mr J. W. Collins, of Wellington, is at Auckland. Mr P. F. Dean, as their delegate* to the New Zealand Association. One of Kimbol ton’s earliest settlers, Mr Joseph Pawelka, is dead, at the age of 83. He arrived in the district some 90 years ago. when there was practically nothing but standing bnsh, and experienced all the hardships of pioneering. A Press' Association message from Auckland states that at the Methodist District Synod it was announced that the Rev. T. G. Brooke, general secretary to the Home Missions, is retiring. He entered the ministry in 1879, taking up his present position in 1909. Mr M. J. Reardon, of Wellington, has been appointed by the Government aa one of the Information Officers at the British Empire Exhibition. Mr Reardon was formerly workers’ representative on - the Arbitration Court, and is one of the best informed men on industrial matters in the Dominion. For this reason he h> considered to be very well fitted for the appointment.
