, .. DROP IN VALUES. Par Itosb Asaociatioa. CHRISTCHURCH, November 21 , At the Addington market there was a further drop in values to-day of both fat cattle and sheep. The yardings Were of an average weekly size, but butchers were holding some stocks from the previous week. The store sheep entry was principally two-tooth wethers just off the shears, and there was a good sale throughout, prices being well up to late rates. A few pens of two-tooth ewes sold well. Forward four and six-tooth wethers made from 28s to 28s; ordinary four, six and eight-tooth, 24s 6d to 27s Id; low conditioned and inferior four, six and eighttooth, 18s to 22s sd; good halfbred twotooth, 22s 6d to 236; ordinary halfbred two-tooth, 20s 6d to 22s 3d; cull, 19s to 20s; good crossbred two-tooth, 22s 6d to ' 24s Id; ordinary crossbred, 20s to 225; halfbred two-tooth ewes 23s to 28s 9d; three-quarterbred two-tooth, 27s 8d; inferior aged woolly ewes and lambs, 17s 3d; ill-conditionad, aged ewes and lambs, 16s 3d, all counted. i Fat Lambs.—Slightly over 500 "yarded; too many for batchers, and the demand { eased. Over all the price was about 9fd ! per lb, with a few pens over and others Under. (Extra prime lambs, 32s 9d; prime, 28s 6d to 81s 6d;. medium, 26s to 28s 3d; light, 23s 6d to 25s 9d. •Fat Sheep.— An average-sized yarding, nearly all being shorn. There Were more ewes than of late. The bulk were of medium quality, and values eased, the sale being a dragging one. Primest wethers realised up to 7d, bulk 6Jd to 6|d, best ewe 6Jd to 6jd, and secondary 6|d to 6d. Extra prime wethers made from 35s to 38s; a few special, 40s 9d; prime, 31s 6d to 34s 6d; medium, 29s to 31s 3d; light, 26s 6d to 28s 9d; extra prime ewes, 31s lOd, .prime, 27s 6d to 29s 6d; medium, 25s 3d to 27s 3d; light, 22s to 255; old, 18s to 21s. Fat Cattle.—There were 374 head penned, and there was a drop of 20s per head on big beef and 20s to 25s on cows, while good medium-weight were slightly lower. Best realised from 37s to 39s per 1001 b, prime 35s to 375, medium 32s to 345, and rough down to 20s. ’ Extra prime steers made from £l7 10s to £l9; a few special, £2O; .prime, £l4 10s to £l7; medium, £ll to £l4; light, £6 to £10; extra prime heifers, £lO 15s; prime, £8 10s to £10; ordinary, £5 to £7 15s; extra prime cows, £l2 17s 6d; prime, £7 10s to £10; ordinary, £5 to £7. Veilers.—A big entry, anything but calves being hard to quit. Runners realised £5, vealers £3 5s to £4 ss, medium calves £1 10s to £2 15s, small £5 15s. Store Cattle.—A large yarding, but the quality was not too good. Three-year steers made from £6 15s to £7 ss; twoyear, £3 15s to £4; .yearling, £1 5s to £2; two-year heifers, £2 15s to £3 ss; yearling, £2 5s to £2 10s; good cows, £2 to £3; medium and inferior, £1 to £1 17s 6d. Dairy Cattle.—A medium entry and the ouit 1 itv was generally good. There was a somewhat better inquiry for good sorts. Best cows made from £5 to £9 10s; medium, £8 to £4 10s; good heifers, £4 10s to £8 10s. Fat Pigs.—A medium entry. Prices showed little variation. Choppers realised from £2 10s to £6 10s; light baconers, £3 10s to £3 16s; heavy, £4 to £4 12s; extra heavy, £5 (average price per lb 7d to 7id); light porkers, £2 10s to £2 17s 6d; heavy, £3 to £3 7s 6d (average price per lb 7jd to 8d). Store Pigs.—A medium entry. -Owing to the recent drop in fat pigs the demand for all classes was easier. Weaners made from 16s to ,245; small stores, 18s to 275; medium, 30s to 395; large, 45s to 50s.
