SCHOOLS IN SPORT
BIG GATHERING NEXT MONTH. Before the school year ends the scholars from the public sohools will have an outing at the Basin Reserve, a day- having been set apart for amateur athfetio contests, in which, the boys and girls chosen to represent their schools will do the participants. For the occasion, which is of interest to all families having members at the public schools, the Education Board has granted a holiday. The gathering is to take place on Wednesday, December 12th and will be conducted by the Wellington Public Bonools' Amateur Athletio Association. As has been the case during recent years, in which the schools have combined to make a big gathering, there will be a vary large number of competitors. The bon. secretary {Mr W. Binet Brown, of the Clyde quay School) states that there will _ be over 2000 children starting in the various oventa, representative of 32 schools, extending to Porirua and Upper Hutt. The school holidays will commence about a week later. J
